Babadere Geothermal Power Plant (GEPP)

Babadere Geothermal Power Plant (GEPP)

Project Location: Babadere GEPP project site is located in the north-west of Turkey, in Canakkale province of Marmara Region.

Methodology: ACM0002 Grid-connected electricity generation from renewable sources

Description: Babadere GEPP exploits the geothermal medium enthalpy resources which are present in the subsoil of the area. The current target of the project is to install and operate a Geothermal Electric Power Plant (GEPP) with  7.0  MWe  gross  capacity  (5.9  MWe  net  capacity).  The  conversion  of  the  geothermal  heat  to electricity will be performed through the binary organic cycle technology. The electricity produced by project activity will result in an annual average emission reduction of 22,525 tonnes of CO2e. Expected total emission reduction amount over the first crediting period is 157,676 tCO2.
